Bear Shaving Co.
More men are starting to take personal grooming seriously. As more men start taking up wet shaving, there became a need for an online shopping experience that helped shavers pick out all the tools they need for a fantastic shave and educate them on how to properly use them. That is Bear Shaving's mission. The goal for this project was to create a intuitive shopping experience that guides shavers through the process to ensure they have everything they need to start shaving right.

Objectives
- Conduct user research on shavers and their shopping behaviours
- Ideate wireframes and apply accessibility standards to designs.
- Translate wireframes into low-fi and hi-fi prototypes and create branding concepts for Bear Shaving
Process
Research & Empathize
It is important to establish a design beachhead by understanding shavers and their thoughts on shaving. I interviewed 6 shavers and 4 out of 6 of them say that while they do shave, they think shaving products are complicated and only shave with water and cheap razors. But 5 out of 6 of them said they would want to learn to shave with proper tools and to have a better shaving experience.
Sketch & Ideate
After developing a user persona and study their user journey to serve as a north star for design, next came sketching and ideating concepts to further refine a direction
Develop low-fi wireframe and prototype
Starting off with pen and paper and later moving on to adobe XD, I ideated on early sketches to create a sequential structure shopping experience that helps guide each user through each product category
Develop hi-fi prototype and branding concepts
Finally, after conducting unmoderated user testing, feedback is taken into account and used to further refine the hi-fi prototype. Also, branding mockups for Bear Shaving's products were created to help give the brand's shopping experience a polished and real-life look.
Final Takeaway
This was a fun project to be a part of because I have a hobby for shaving and shaving products. What I took away from this experience was that solutions come from listening to the users you are designing for. The solutions I came up with were the result of paying attention to users needs and opinions and if it wasn't for them I don't know if I would have came up with solutions that were satisfying and effective
